Greyparrot at Sunset Park: counting 91,000 lost cans a day is not the same as saving them

Greyparrot's Analyzer AI has been watching conveyors at Circular Services' Sunset Park MRF in Brooklyn since Q1 2026. The headline: 89% of aluminium passing through is recoverable — about 91,000 cans a day.

Knowing where on the line aluminium escapes is actionable: adjust eddy-current separators, slow a belt, fix burden depth. Passive monitoring is cheap to install. If the pilots show measured recovery gains, rollout across 38 MRFs would be easy to justify.

Does better information lead to better recovery? Sometimes knowing you are losing money does not mean you can fix it without new equipment. Greyparrot is currently selling measurement. The autumn pilot data will show whether it also sells recovery.
